Deep River

I’ve been wanting to photograph this building forever. Time and opportunity crossed paths yesterday morning. The picture was made with a 4x5 camera, 150mm lens, and Ilford HP Plus film.

Cottages

Morning light. It was unseasonably warm one winter morning, so I took the 4x5 to the town beach, approximately two miles away from where I live.

Jill with a Toaster

A little late in posting this. This picture was digitally made back in June (2020). The picture popping out of the toaster is a photocopy of print. That photograph was made with my 4x5 and is posted on my Twitter account. You may have to dig back to find it (there’s a Twitter icon below the menu to the left that will take you there). In this picture, Jill is holding a broadsheet newspaper I published with a picture of snake on the cover. The snake photo was made with a medium format camera. The toaster is on display in my studio.

My Mom’s Quilts

When my mother died in May 2020, she left behind close to a hundred quilted pieces. These range in size from small coasters and potholders to full sized bedspreads. I wanted a lasting record of her creativity and have begun digitally photographing them in my studio starting with the smallest pieces and working my way up. It’s a long term project. Here is the first (front and back) of many more to come.
